The Coating Line Operator is responsible for the operation of a Coating Line to produce and convert PET or rPET uncoated fabric rolls into coated or laminated fabric rolls. The Operator is responsible for meeting customer requirements while conforming to company standards for quality and job parameters.
Primary Responsibilities:
∙ Sets up and operates the Coating Line or otherwise adjust machines to improve tapes quality, using knobs, hand wheels, or hand tools
∙ Adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature and general operation.
∙ Examines job orders to determine details such as quantities to be produced, width, weights, colors, materials and sequences.
∙ Inspects and examines uncoated rolls to conformance to specifications, and external defects using specific test methods.
∙ Selects and install winding pipes, Teflon tapes and slitting blades in machine according to specifications.
∙ Sets parameters (Temperatures, Pressures,etc.) according to Technical Sheets on Machine and Blenders.
∙ Monitors the coating processes to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions and makes any necessary adjustments.
∙ Operates equipment at required speed to ensure proper coating coverage, alignment, and adhesion.
∙ Cleans and lubricates Coating Line, using oil, solvents, brushes, and rags.
∙ Removes coated materials from Coating Line and transports them to storage or finishing areas.
∙ Ensures the work conducted within the production area is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
∙ Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company’s management program.
∙ Maintains daily time and materials usage reports by entering information into the computer management system.
Required Qualifications:
∙ 1-2 years relevant experience in coating or laminating line preferred.
∙ High school diploma preferred.
∙ Candidate should possess basic mathematical skills.
∙ Candidate should possess a strong work ethic, time management and troubleshooting skills, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented.
∙ Candidate must be able to monitor processes, materials and equipment, as well as judge quality through inspection of characteristics.
∙ Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
∙ Candidate must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
∙ Stand for long periods of time throughout the day.
∙ Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
∙ Will walk and climb stairs.
∙ Will reach over shoulder heights and below waist.
∙ Required to use hands to lift, handle, carry or feel.
∙ May be required to kneel, bend, talk and hear.
∙ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
∙ Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
