The Extrusion Tape Line Operator is responsible for the operation of an Extrusion Tape Line to produce and convert PET or rPET granules/flakes into Warp and Weft bobbins. The Extrusion Tape Line Operator is responsible for meeting customer requirements while conforming to company standards for quality and job parameters.
Primary Responsibilities:
∙ Sets up and operates the Extrusion Tape Line or otherwise adjust machines to improve tapes quality, using knobs, hand wheels, or hand tools
∙ Adjust, calibrate and test equipment at the beginning of every shift to ensure proper pressure, speed, temperature and general operation.
∙ Examines job orders to determine details such as quantities to be produced, titer, tape width colors, and sequences.
∙ Selects and install blades and spacers in machine according to specifications.
∙ Examines visually thickness gauge to guarantee a good weight control.
∙ Monitors the processes to maintain specified operating levels and to detect malfunctions; make any necessary adjustments.
∙ Operates equipment at required speed and parameters to ensure proper tapes quality.
∙ String up the tapes to the Winders.
∙ Unloads filled bobbins from the winders and loads with empty tubes.
∙ Maintains, or adjusts equipment using proper preventive maintenance techniques.
∙ Cleans and lubricates Extrusion Line and components, using oil, solvents, brushes, and rags.
∙ Removes filled bobbins from winders and transports them to storage areas.
∙ Ensures the work conducted within the production area is performed in a safe and efficient manner.
∙ Ensures adherence to all quality control processes and procedures and actively supports the company’s management program.
∙ Maintains daily time and materials usage reports by entering information into the computer management system.
Required Qualifications:
∙ 1-2 years relevant experience in extrusion line preferred.
∙ High school diploma preferred.
∙ Candidate should possess basic mathematical skills.
∙ Candidate should possess a strong work ethic, time management and troubleshooting skills, a positive attitude, and be detail oriented.
∙ Candidate must be able to monitor processes, materials and equipment, as well as judge quality through inspection of characteristics.
∙ Candidate must be able to work independently with minimal guidance required. This implies good time management, planning/organization, and decision-making skills.
∙ Candidate must be able to interact effectively with a wide variety of people, maintaining flexibility, objectivity and a capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
Physical Requirements:
∙ Stand for long periods of time throughout the day.
∙ Required to lift up to 50 lbs.
∙ Will walk and climb stairs.
∙ Will reach over shoulder heights and below waist.
∙ Required to use hands to lift, handle, carry or feel.
∙ May be required to kneel, bend, talk and hear.
∙ The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
∙ Specific vision abilities required by this job include color vision.
